Potassium is the main intracellular cation involved in the metabolism of muscles, heart, kidneys, and the central nervous system. It determines the tone of smooth and skeletal muscles and functions in neuromuscular excitation conduction.
Low potassium intake can lead to sodium retention and increased blood pressure. Potassium deficiency can occur due to vomiting, prolonged diarrhea, excessive sweating, or diuretic use. Excessive consumption of coffee, sugar, alcohol, or sodium, as well as low blood sugar levels, may lead to increased potassium excretion through urine. The main symptoms of potassium deficiency include heart rhythm disturbances and muscle weakness. Severe potassium deficiency is rare. It may occur in patients receiving tube feeding, or in cases of eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia) and alcoholism.
Usage: Take 1 tablet twice a day.
